Departure Day

The day hath come! I am super excited and super nervous at the same time. My first stop is Bangkok for a couple of days where I plan on hopefully meeting some other backpackers and getting some travel recommendations. I’ve already been crawling the web and know that I want to do a full moon party, ride a moped and visit The Beach, hopefully Leo is there too *jokes*.

I have decided that I am going to do an airline review throughout my flight. I figured I will be taking loads of flights over the next 18 months and I think it’s good for people to have an upto date review on what’s going on with airlines. I will probably get that published in Bangkok (WiFi dependent) so keep your eyes peeled for that. I will post it on my shiny new Facebook Page (that’s a link, click it and give me a thumbs up pls).

Things I am going to miss:

I keep getting asked what I will miss. Asides from the obvious I think that is a hard question as “you don’t know what you’ve got ’til it’s gone” and all that jazz. Here is a quick list of things I can think of from the top of my head:

  • My family
  • My friends
  • Greggs
  • Nandos
  • Dominos (There’s a theme here, though I think I can get Dominos worldwide and possibly even Nandos lol)

Nevertheless, I am beyond excited for the months ahead. Hopefully I will step out of my comfort zone and get myself some adventure. I am super excited to explore Thailand, I’ve heard it’s a great place for a newbie backpacker to try out the travelling lifestyle as everyone speaks English and there’s wi-fi everywhere. The wifi aspect will be good for the blogging side of things. I recently took the change from windows to mac as macs are so small and it will be easy to travel with. My insurance premium took a nice hike though.

I think there’s going to be a lot of chilling on the beach for the first week though; being from England, the sun is a novelty and is unlikely to ware off for a while. I am really looking forward to visiting Phi Phi Island and Koh Lanta. I have heard Koh Lanta is super chill so I’m thinking that would be a great place to head post full moon (I’m not sure if they’re near to each other or not).

Anyway, must be off, lots to plan this morning. But first, a final goodbye brunch 🙂 – I will post about my flight experience when I arrive in (hopefully sunny) Bangkok. xox
